Get ready for an awesome day of golf, networking, and some friendly competition at this year’s Big I CNY Golf Tournament on Monday, June 22nd. We’re at the beautiful Timber Banks and you get to pick the style of play that suits you best!

9-Hole: Golf Social Great for beginners and recreational golfers. Get in an easy and relaxing 9-hole first thing in the morning before grabbing lunch at the clubhouse. Plenty of time for you to head into the office or take the rest of the day off…we won’t tell.

18-Hole: Tournament Perfect for avid golfers looking to show off their game and want a challenge. This is the whole tournament experience with contests, lunch, and drinks on the course. We’ll wrap up the day and award prizes at the post-tournament reception. Contests include Skins (NEW and by popular demand!), Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, Hole-in-One, and 50/50 Tee Shot. To keep the pace of play moving, we are once again doing max bogey per hole and max two putts. We are also capping the tournament to 32 teams. May the best foursome win!

No matter the play you pick, you'll have a great time hitting the links while helping local charities. Thanks to your support of last year’s tournament, we donated $25,000. The tournament also supports the Project InVEST Robert Maher Memorial Scholarship Fund, which helps CNY students continue their education in the field of insurance.

Golf’s not your game? That’s okay – come out to Timber Banks for the social reception. Enjoy the beautiful view from the back deck and catch up with friends.

Registration for the tournament is open to everyone! Foursomes for the 18-Hole Tournament are sold out. There are three individual player spots available. If you’d like to play in the 9-Hole Social, there are both foursomes and individual spots available.

NextGen CNY Mini Masters Workshop

Golf season is upon us!

Join NextGen CNY to perfect your swing at the first ever Mini Masters Workshop on April 9th.

We’re teeing off at the indoor Sportsplex at Turning Stone.  Bring your clubs and see if you’ll win bragging rights with the Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, and Putting contests.

The Masters will be on TVs around the facility to be inspired by the pros.  There will also be food, drink, and plenty of time to network.

Come out to Coleman’s on Wednesday, January 14th for delicious food, great drinks, and conversation with the best insurance agents in the state. This holiday party is also a way to give back to our community. Big I CNY will once again support St. Lucy's Church in Syracuse. There are three ways you can help:

• New winter hats, gloves, and scarves (men, women & children)

• Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant)

• Non-perishable food

Bring these items with you to the holiday party. We are also collecting financial donations for St. Lucy's. Cash and check (made out to St. Lucy's Bread of Life) will be accepted.

Join NextGen CNY for the third annual Shop 'Til You Drop Challenge for Charity. This is your chance to expand your business relationships while giving back to three incredible charities in CNY. You and your teammates will each be handed a holiday wish list and cash to deck the halls of Destiny USA.  Bullfinch Brewpub (located in the Canyon section of the mall) is your home base to grab a drink and light appetizers and to bring back your shopping bags full of gifts. Ugly holiday sweaters and Santa hats encouraged!

Price: $40 includes light appetizers, two drinks, and spending cash. Walk-in price is $50.

Have fun while earning CE credit!  Join NextGen CNY at Home Team Pub on October 9th for a fun evening with insurance trivia, drinks, food, and karaoke.  Enjoy some friendly competition and earn 1 CE credit toward your license renewal.  Not licensed?  See if you're smarter than an insurance agent.  A prize will be awarded to the winning team. 

Then, stay to sing karaoke or cheer on your team mates as they belt out the hits.

Please consider supporting the statewide NextGen initiative in October to collect items for our favorite animal organizations.  Donations can be brought to the event or you can call Allison Just at 315-432-4249 to schedule a drop-off.

The course has been filed for approval with Tim Dodge as your CE trivia host.  The CE credit is for BR, GC, PC and PA.  NextGen CNY will set up the teams.

This year’s NextGen CNY Shot Clock Social is a slam dunk! Join us on Thursday, March 20th for a fun-filled day on a new court: The Press Room Pub in Syracuse. The Shot Clock Social lineup includes networking, 2 drink tickets, and bar-favorite snacks.

We love a good charity so we’re supporting ED23HOOPS, a local youth basketball program founded by former SU star Eric Devendorf. This is your chance to complete a tournament bracket and help aspiring young athletes. After the championship game, we’ll donate $250 to ED23HOOPS and the person with the best bracket will win $250 cash and bragging rights.

We'll meet with our local and state lawmakers and their staff teams to discuss the issues critical to our industry. Travis Wattie, Big I NY’s AVP of Government Relations, will also recap Big I NY’s legislative efforts this year and provide a briefing on priorities for 2025.

Agents, brokers, and company representatives raise thousands and thousands of dollars every year at this tournament.  The money goes right back into CNY, helping local charities that you recommend.   

Practice your swing because there are several contests to win cash: Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, Hole-in-One and 50/50 Tee Shot.  Golf registration includes a grilled lunch, greens and cart fees, drinks on the course, social reception, and dinner.  To keep play moving, it's max bogey per hole and max 2 putt again this year.
